Car Alarm Remote Covers
How to catch vandalism to gate when it happens?
I live in a gated community. Last week, the gate was vandalized three times for a total of $1200 in damage which comes out of the HOA budget. We live right next to a high school. I need ideas on how to catch the vandals in the act.
The company that maintains the gates said a decent security camera system would cost $20K. We are a small community and cannot afford this expense. I need some clever inexpensive ideas to monitor the gates.
One thing they have been doing is tearing the cover off the mechanism. Is there a device that could sense when the cover is removed and send a signal to a remote, for example like a 2-way car alarm that alerts your key fob when the alarm goes off?
what about installing motion sensor lights near the gate, that way when someone comes near the gate the lights will come on
